No, that's why I read your initial comment and three other ones, including the last one. I am done.
jwfacts is a great website, but in view of the fact that "there are no facts, only interpretations", as nietzsche said, should the website be renamed jwinterpretations instead?

"There are no facts only interpretations" F. Nietzsche.
Therefore what? We don't exist, there are no events, no actions.
So foolish and pretentious to quote catch phrases that are devoid of any practical meaning. Go to a website that deals with philosophy. Most of us here, deal in the realm of practical knowledge.
i'm 15, and i'm an unbaptized publisher... so i've been what you call "lurking" here for the past few weeks and i have some questions.
i hear you guys constantly mentioning ttatt so where can i go to learn more about this (links please)?
also i've already told my mom that i don't believe in the governing body and she is making me do even more!
Be patient, even if you feel the urge to scream, be good to your parents, but the most important thing stay away from baptism. Jesus got baptized when he was 30.
when i found the following quote in another thread of the watchtower of november 2013 all of a sudden i got the push and the ideas to do something to denounce jehovah's witnesses as a dangerous religion.. at that time, the lifesaving direction that we receive from jehovahs organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.
all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound... or not.
(4) now is the time for any who may be putting their trust in secular education, material things, or human institutions to adjust their thinking the elders must stand ready to help any who may now be wavering in their faith.

I am in a business that allows me to procuce flyers at a reduce cost. My business is in L.A.
My idea is to produce a flyer that folds in four parts, double sided on legal size. The title may be "Jehovah's Witness, a Mainstream Religion or a Dangerous Cult, You decide"
In the first part, start with a brief and objective description of the religion, a very brief history and even speak well of the morality and behavior of the members, as well as the apparently healthy and happy social environment. Then, in some of the remaining parts of the flyer (6) describe, starting with a question the multiple questionable practices and doctrines (Example: "Shunning, a loving rule or a destructive practice?). Support each subject with one or two quotes from Watchtower publications and document supporting information in the last part of the flyer (multiple websites, dozens of books by ex-members and the Watchtower own publications).
Anyone in the area of Los Angeles CA, let me know if they are interested in such a project.
The flyer can be given to religious organizations that may be interested in spreading the information, or even individuals anywhere, the street, the Mall, the dentist's office.
Your feedback appreciated
but lyndon johnson often reminds me of rutherford.
is there anything to that comparison?
i gather that johnson had a very fiery temper and was disliked by many around him; drinked heavily too, was a womaniser, no stranger to dirty tricks, and was fond of power more than idealistism.
Hard to think of U.S. presidents resembling WTS presidents. Normal and abnormal are antithetical, not analogous
It's like birthdays, weddings, babyshowers, an opportunity to have a good time with friends and family. Who cares about the origins. Pagan? As if the Bible can claim with sound support to be from the "true God". Who cares. Be happy and celebrate the opportunity to get together with your loved ones
this is my first post after deciding to finally open an account here after months of 'lurking'.. a couple of issues i want to address-.
i have issues with people who go from being a witness to losing all faith in god or the bible which seems to be the case with some members of this site.
i just don't think you can let any religion change how you view god or the bible.. second-i don't feel the gb are bad people, i think most witnesses including them are misguided by something that has been drilled into their heads since they were little and are actually sincere people.
wallievase,
A year ago, I too thought that the members of the governing body were nice, well intended men, who had a screw missing in their brain. As I learn more about them through the Watchtower magazines and their books, more and more I move in the direction of believing that they are evil. I am not quite there yet, but steadily moving that way.

news .religious people are less intelligent than non-believers, according to a new review of 63 scientific studies stretching back over decades.. .
a team led by miron zuckerman of the university of rochester found a reliable negative relation between intelligence and religiosity in 53 out of 63 studies.
I knew it. All those "C" in my school report cards and minimum wage jobs that I have held for the last 15 years don't really tell the story about my brain. I am smart. I don't believe in the personal God of the Bible. Thank you , thank you, thank you God
my wife is filipina and i ge the impression they are a bit different from other jws in regard to shunning family - my sister-in-law is df'd but the family does not exclude her but she does sort of oerpate ont eh margtin of the family.
i wonder wheterh there are any differences with filipino jws.
i get the feeling that less of them fade or leave voluntarily once baptized but weopudl like some confirmation of whether that is correct..
I am not filipino, but I know few, an as a Latino can say that Hispanics similarly are not as strict regarding the shunning. It must be the common Latin ancestry of Filipinos and Latinos that keeps the family bond a bit stronger than the WTS would like.
today's high school students in the usa:.
less than 1/2 of them cannot identify the century when our civil war happened.. one in four thought columbus discovered america sometime after 1750.. one in three cannot name one right enumerated in the bill of rights.. three out of four cannot name the first us president.. two out of three do not know the length of term of a member of the house of representatives.. half cannot find britain on a map.. one out of four cannot find america on a map.. when my oldest daughter, who is now a physician was in 9th grade in this once-great state of california, i asked her about the three branches of our federal government.
she was clueless and told me she would take civics in her junior year in high school.
Gary Neal,
The video strated well, but ended disappointingly. C'mon. Yes, big business owners have greater influence over politicians. Taller basketball player have also an advantage over shorter ones, and use it too. What do you expect? But to jump from this thought to the idea that business owners "own you" and want you to fail in school. Please.
